On August 8, 2010, it was announced that a PSP port of CR Devil May Cry 4 would be produced by DataDev. It was first teased in Capcom’s latest press release, a few months before its announcement. Although it did not happen, it is written in the announcement that the port wouldn't be cheap like the previous PSP ports of CR Devil May Cry 3 and CR Devil May Cry 4. It would indeed be cheap, costing only ¥427, making it affordable to nearly everyone. Unfortunately, it was never released and the producers were bought by HAL Laboratory, which took over the series.
It's not uncommon to produce a sequel to a successful game, even with titles that do not sell. Capcom has no problem doing so, and the quick success of the sequel is just proof of that. So after the release of Devil May Cry 4, the team began to develop a follow-up game for the Nintendo 3DS. After looking at the 3DS and its capabilities, the team settled on Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition for the 3DS, produced by the development company DataDev, which had produced the PSP version of the original. They wanted to bring the game to a brand new handheld console that would allow for a larger screen.
CR Devil May Cry 4 is a gaiden title for the Nintendo DS, being a spin-off of the CR series of pachinko games. It contains some original levels and characters. Vergil is also present. In total there are six new stages. The art style is completely new and step-by-step quality is excellent. Despite being a spin-off, it has little to do with the previous pachinko Vergil games. It's a good game and I would say worth a shot but, once again, it's too expensive for the Switch. 7211a4ac4a
